1. Week 1 · 3 h

   AI, ML and deep learning basics

   • Tell AI, ML and DL apart, and match tasks to data types (tabular, text, image, audio)
   • Explain supervised regression and classification, unsupervised clustering and reinforcement learning, with one example each
   • Describe a multilayer perceptron, CNNs for images and sequence models (RNN/LSTM) for text and time series

2. Week 1 · 3 h

   Generative AI, LLMs and OCI Enterprise AI

   • Explain transformers and attention, tokens and context windows, and prompt engineering (zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought)
   • Choose between prompting, RAG and fine-tuning to customise an LLM with your own data
   • Describe the new OCI Enterprise AI modules (embeddings and vector stores, grounding/RAG, the OCI Responses API, function calling, MCP, memory, guardrails and access control)

   Hands-on: In an OCI Free Tier account, open the Generative AI playground, run the same prompt at two temperature settings and with a few-shot example, and note how the output changes.

3. Week 1 · 2 h

   OCI AI portfolio, AI services and Agentic AI for Database

   • Name the OCI AI services (Language, Speech, Vision, Document Understanding) and pick one for a given scenario
   • Explain OCI AI infrastructure (GPUs, superclusters), OCI Data Science and Oracle's responsible-AI principles
   • Describe Oracle AI Vector Search, Select AI and the Autonomous AI Database MCP Server at a concept level

   Hands-on: In the OCI Free Tier console, upload a scanned receipt to Document Understanding and run text extraction and key-value extraction. Then paste a product review into the Language service and compare its sentiment and key-phrase output.

4. Week 1 · 1 h

   Skill checks, practice exam and booking

   • Pass every module skill check in the course at 80% or above
   • Take the free practice exam in the learning path and review every miss
   • Read the Exam Topics module in the learning path, then book the free 1Z0-1122-26 exam

Exam tips

• The learning path lists the exam as 1Z0-1122-26, a 60-minute online exam. Oracle's 2026 update says all Foundations certifications stay free.
• The 2026 course adds OCI Enterprise AI and Agentic AI for Database modules, so 1Z0-1122-25 study material misses part of the exam.
